First granted approval by the AKC, in 1991, to Judge Terriers, Carole is now approved to judge Terrier, Toy, and Sporting Groups, all Poodles, Boston Terriers and Best In Show.
She has been active in purebred dogs since 1980, when she purchased a Wire Fox Terrier puppy that was the grandson of two famous Wires-Ch. Ayre Dominator and Sunnybrook Spot On. As soon the puppy was six months old and she saw him, in the ring, Carole was hooked for good. Since then, she has finished over 35 Wire Fox and 50 Welsh Terriers.
Her homebreds have had a total of eight Welsh Best In Shows, and two Wire Fox Best in Shows. The Welsh have had both Obedience and Working titles, and one Champion had both a UD and a Tracking Degree. As a hobby and serious breeder, under the name of "SUNSPRYTE", she has had a total of over 90 Welsh and or/ Wire Fox litters. She is the breeder of the only multiple Best In Show littermates, in the history, of the Welsh breed. Those littermates went BOB and Group IV, and BOS, in the 1991 Westminster Show. In 1999, at the Westminster Show, her homebred Welsh won the Terrier Group. She is in the Wire Fox Terrier Club of Central States Breeders Hall of Fame.
She is a two-term Past President of both the Welsh Terrier Club of America, and the Greater Venice Florida Dog Club. Other memberships include the Tampa Bay Terrier Club(1981 Charter Member), Welsh Terrier Club of Southern California, Wire Fox Terrier Club of Central States, American Fox Terrier Club, and Greater Atlanta Fox Terrier Club. She is the Chairman of the Judges Education and Judges Mentoring for The Welsh Terrier Club of America. She is also an active member, in two professional Judges organizations - American Dog Judges, and Senior Conformations Judges.
Until retiring in 2006, she was a Professional Member of the American Institute of Interior Designers, and licensed , by the state of Florida, to practice Interior Design, and owned an Interior Design Studio, in Sarasota, FL, since 1969.
Her International judging assignments include Germany, Finland, Colombia, Venezuela, China, and Bermuda.
