I have been involved with showing and breeding dogs for as long as I can remember having bred and shown my first champion at the age of 7 years. As a handler I worked with Anne Rogers Clark for 11 years. A successful professional handler for over 35 years I showed top ranked dogs in many of the groups. Specific breeds to include but not limited to:
Sporting - Germ Wire Ptr; Vizsla; Hound - Bassets, Foxhounds, Dachshunds, Scotish Deerhounds, Whippets, Rhod Ridgebacks; Working - Samoyeds, Rottweilers,Bullmastiffs, St Bernards, Siberian Huskies; Terrier - Scotish Terriers, Smooth Fox Terriers; Toy - Brussels Griffons, Ital Greyhounds, Jap Chins, Cavaliers, Min Pins, Paps, Pekes, Poms, Pugs, Silky Terriers; Nonspt - Boston Ter, Dals, Kees, Schipperkes, Tib Spaniels; Herding - Aust Cat Dogs, Aust Shep, Beardies, Bel Mal, Sheepdogs and Tervs, Bouviers, Briards, Cardigan and Pembroke Corgis, Collies, Old Eng Sheepdogs, Pulik.
I have also been a successful dog breeder especially with my Germ Wire Ptrs, Ital Greyhounds, and Poms mostly under my kennel name of Cassio Kennels. As a handler I advised many of my clients with their breeding programs and enjoyed grading their litters and working with those special ones to develop them into show dogs.
In 1965 I started my own commercial kennel in Newtown, CT under the Cassio name. We currently offer boarding, grooming, training, and water sports. I also participate in various local community events. In 1980 I joined the Greenwich Kennel Club and have held most all Office positions during this time and continue to be very active.
I retired from handling in 2002 and started on a new career as an AKC dog judge. I enjoy judging and currently can judge the Sporting and Hound breeds and Groups; most of the Herding and a reasonable number of the Toy breeds.
