I have had dogs since I was 5 years old. We had Pomeranians since 3rd grade and Gordon Setters during my teens.
I received a Dachshund for a wedding present. In 1968 I purchased a Pomeranian, joined a local kennel club, and decided to breed the best I could. I bred and owned Irish Setters starting in 1972. In 1975 I wanted to try a Terrier breed, so purchased a Norwich. I bred close to 100 Champions in those 3 breeds.
I started judging in 1986, and currently judge Setters, Groups 4 & 5, 1/2 of the breeds in Group 6, BIS, Jr. Showmanship, & Misc.
I am a life member of the Irish Setter Club of Milwaukee. and the Manitowoc County KC. I am also Past Pres. and past show Chair of Manitowoc County KC & Sheboygan KC.
I have been on the American Pomeranian Club Board for about 20 years, was their first Education Coordinator, and have written many articles in several magazines.
I am currently co-show chair of the Norwich Terrier Club of America and reside in Florida during the coldest months of the Wisconsin weather. I am a retired school teacher & do substitute teaching, elementary through high school, when in WI.
I bring the dog magazines to school that I have finished reading. At the end of the day, when they have behaved and worked nicely, I give the magazines to those "best" students. The kids look forward to them.
